I feel like this is SO needed, as literally our entire life has changed since the last life lately! :) So here's a brief update!
WHAT WE'RE EATING:
Ok well FIRST ... we just started using Amazon Fresh grocery delivery and I swear to all that is right & holy in this world - I'm a changed woman. You guys, I put in my grocery order last night at 9 PM and my groceries were here at 5:30 this morning! LIKE WHAT?! I hope my delivery guy likes kisses because nobody can hold me back. We've honestly been eating SO. MUCH. TAKE. OUT. Moving is rough on the ol' grocery schedule and mama just needs a burrito. So, I'm really looking forward to cooking more this fall, when we get back into our routine and life resumes like the old days ... first up on the list: this chili, our favorite pasta, and of course, these.
WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Collin and I went away last weekend without the kids (the first time I've left Norah!) and it was SO strange to have NO kids. It got me thinking a lot about the days before kids and how much our life has changed. I just appreciate every season of life so much and while I always feel like my kids are growing too fast, I know I'll one day also appreciate having more time with Collin.
WHAT I'M LOVING:
SPACE! We moved into a house that is on .6 acres and it's been LIFE CHANGING to have so much space for the kids to roam. There's a yard, and huge garden and then a whole lot of woods to explore. The house we moved into is about 1,000 square feet smaller than our last house, but we honestly haven't felt the size too dramatically because the kids have been living outside. I've never seen dirtier kids in my life and it seriously makes me so freaking happy. Go earn that shower!
WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO:
Ha! Moving. Seriously though, moving is so much work. We hired movers which was worth every copper penny, but the unpacking, organizing, re-arranging and getting-rid-of-shit is really time consuming. I'm a total maximizer and pride myself on getting stuff done efficiently, but 4 kids really has a way of cramping your style ;) It takes me 4 times as long to unpack a box, organize a closet or fold laundry. Totally worth it, but I'm definitely learning to be a bit more patient in this process. We are adjusting well to our new town, loving the convenience factor and overall have taken very well to the change.
WHAT I'M DREADING:
SCHOOL! I can't believe I have to send Baylor to school this year - I love being with my kids and the thought of having to leave him every day literally pains me. Long live summer, no schedules, and the chaos that we all live for.
WHAT I'M WORKING ON:
Goodness, SO much. My oils are my current pride & joy and I'm totally obsessed. If you haven't jumped on the oils train, you can follow along with me over at @thismagicmama ... I'm ramping up for a busy fall with HEN & CO - working on new collegiate & nfl apparel as well as some new fall/halloween styles! Can't wait for you guys to see!
^^ I'm also working my butt off to organize this house and have scoured pinterest for all the organizing hacks I can possibly find. 4 kids = SO much shit and I refuse to be a victim of hoarding.
WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT:
FALL! As much as I don't want summer to end, I also freaking love the fall. I'm not ready for it yet, but am excited for it when it does come around. I love change (live for it!) and the seasons are no exception. I'm excited for new holiday traditions with the kids and of course, watching all these gorgeous trees change colors come October.
WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING:
Ummmmm I'm SAD Bachelorette is over, but Paradise is on now and I am JUICED. I'll be sharing all my thoughts tonight on my IG stories, so tune in if you're watching!!
WHAT I'M LISTENING TO:
Kenny Chesney on repeat. Although, Collin & I did have a Taylor Swift sing-along on our road trip last weekend and it was perfectly nostalgic.
WHAT I'M WEARING:
Ok, these are my new favorite pants - I'm obsessed. Otherwise, I'm wearing a whole lot of the same thing (these shorts/these tanks) because 75% of my clothes are still in boxes and Lord knows I'm not trying to put jeans on right now. We're living in a "fresh out of the dryer" outfit season.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
COLLEGE FOOTBALL! Anyone else as obsessed as we are? College Game Day is what we live for in the fall and I am SO pumped for the mornings of waking up early, snuggling up on the sofa and lounging with Kirk Herbstreit ;)
WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
We have some big projects happening in the back yard and I can't wait to show you guys. Our end goal is to build this house up so that our kids never want to leave, they bring all their friends here and I can supervise their every move ;) #helicoptermom #coolmom #kidding #kindof
Happy Monday! It's our 8th Anniversary today - just two kids who fell in love ;)
